WHEN DAD WAS A TEENGER
He probably listened to Bread, a rock band from Los Angeles, California, from the late 1960s. Sex, drugs and rock-and-roll aside, bands of his days could actually play instruments proper, without the need of some award-winning $5000 per minute producer.
The Sound of Bread, Their 20 Finest Songs, is as the name suggest, which makes a perfect consolidation of your old man's memories, we think. The album is now available on LaserDisc for one owner only.
WHAT ON EARTH IS A LASERDISC?
The LaserDisc is a home video format born in 1978 and took off mainly in South East Asia. Basically, before Netflix came about, we had LaserDisc video stores. This mother of a disc measured 30cm in diameter, and was partially responsible for all the painful home karaoke singing from audibly handicapped neighbours one used to have to endure.
